Bendpop

BENDPOP / PHYSICAL PRODUCT DESIGN

Product design and 3D modelling for furniture, objects and displays.

Good idea. Bold form.

Turn your sketch into a model, or develop the form of your idea with us. Review the design through views from the same model and its overall dimensions.

Design and digital files. Physical production is not included.

WHAT WILL YOU RECEIVE?

One design. Three deliverables.

A model tailored to your scope, views of that model and an overall dimensions summary. File formats and the level of detail are agreed in writing before work begins.

Stage · 3D design model
01

3D design model

A model file showing the selected design’s form, proportions and agreed details.

Stage · Views from the model
02

Views from the model

Images prepared from the same model so you can review the design from different angles.

Stage · Overall dimensions PDF
03

Overall dimensions PDF

A summary of the design’s overall dimensions and layout that you can open without specialist design software.

WHERE SHALL WE START?

What stage is your idea at?

We shape the scope around your starting point. A meeting is not required to begin; a short written description is enough.

01

Sketch and dimensions ready

Let’s turn your defined design into a model. We clarify missing dimensions and required details before starting.

From you: a sketch or reference, overall dimensions, intended use and any existing files.

Deliverables: the agreed 3D model, views from the model and an overall dimensions PDF.

I have a sketch to share
02

The design is still open

Let’s develop a design direction from the intended use. We agree the proposal and feedback stages for your project.

From you: the need, intended setting, approximate dimensions and visual references.

Deliverables: the design proposals agreed in the scope, followed by a model, views and overall dimensions PDF for the selected direction.

I have an idea to share
No meeting required.

Describe the need, approve the scope and send one consolidated round of feedback on the preview.

FROM IDEA TO MODEL

Three examples. The decisions behind them.

Explore the need, design decisions and example deliverables for each project. Each PDF includes an image and an overall dimensions sheet.

These are Bendpop’s own example projects, not client commissions or products that have been manufactured.

01 / DISPLAY / RETAIL

Stage
Stage · Six products. Two levels.
Stage · Bendpop concept project

Six products. Two levels.

The need
A countertop display concept that keeps six personal care products visible within a limited footprint.
Design decision
A two-level layout raises the back row. A separate backboard makes room for the brand; placeholder packs help us assess the spacing between products.
One model, different views

Compare the front, side and top views to see the two levels and the arrangement of six packs.

Example deliverable
A view from the display’s 3D model, a design summary and an overall dimensions sheet: 460 × 260 × 340 mm.

Stage · Overall dimensions

The packs illustrate the layout. Actual pack dimensions, connections and material thicknesses need to be checked with the manufacturer before production.

02 / FURNITURE

Fold
Fold · A place beside the sofa.
Fold · Bendpop concept project

A place beside the sofa.

The need
A simple side table concept for a compact seating area.
Design decision
The C-shaped body leaves the front open. We modelled the top, back and base as one form and compared the proportions in different views.

Example deliverable
A view from the table’s 3D model, a design summary and an overall dimensions sheet: 400 × 320 × 520 mm.

Fold · Overall dimensions

This study shows the initial form and overall dimensions. Load capacity, stability and suitability for bending have not been tested.

03 / DESK ACCESSORY

Grip
Grip · A place for every cable.
Grip · Bendpop concept project

A place for every cable.

The need
A cable guide concept that keeps charging cables organised and within reach at the edge of a desk.
Design decision
Four open channels separate the cables. We modelled the C-shaped body, pressure-pad screw and handwheel as separate parts to show how they fit together.

Example deliverable
A view from the cable guide’s 3D model, a design summary and an overall dimensions sheet: 120 × 70 × 92 mm.

Grip · Overall dimensions

The screw thread is not modelled. Clamping range, cable diameters and part tolerances need to be validated with a prototype.

WHAT WE DO

One curve. Many decisions.

We work with brands, design studios and manufacturers on the design and modelling stages of physical products.

Explore a CAD file, too.

View generated from the actual four-hole plate CAD geometry

A 120 × 80 × 6 mm plate with four holes: the solid was exported as STEP and reopened to verify its dimensions and volume. This checks the file; it does not validate loads, material or manufacturing suitability.

01

Product design

We develop design directions by considering use, appearance and the intended materials together.

02

3D modelling

We model form, proportions and agreed details from a sketch or selected design.

03

Dimension documentation

We bring overall dimensions and layout into a clear summary. Requests for manufacturing CAD and technical drawings are assessed separately for method and delivery requirements.

HOW WE WORK

Clear scope. Defined steps.

We can work in writing. If a conversation would help clarify the scope, we arrange it together.

01

Share the need

Send the intended use, dimensions you have and references. We assess suitability and ask for any missing information in writing.

02

Approve the scope

We agree deliverables, file formats, fee, schedule, payment terms and revisions in writing.

03

Review the preview

Review the design at the agreed stage. We work from consolidated feedback provided by one decision-maker.

04

Receive your files

We deliver the agreed files and overall dimensions summary for the approved design.

An overall dimensions summary is not manufacturing approval. Physical production, installation and safety-critical engineering are not included. Materials, tolerances and connections must be checked with the manufacturer before production.

Before we begin.

Can we start with just an idea?

Yes. Share the intended use and your references in writing. If the design direction is still open, we define the proposal, selection and development stages in a separate scope.

Can I send the files straight to production?

A design model and overall dimensions PDF are not, by themselves, manufacturing-ready files or production approval. Manufacturing CAD, technical drawings and additional checks are assessed separately where needed. File formats are agreed before work starts.

How are the fee and delivery schedule set?

They depend on the completeness of your starting information, design needs, number of parts and deliverables. Work begins only after you approve the scope, schedule, fee and payment terms.

What is the difference between a revision and a correction?

Design feedback within the agreed brief is handled through the revisions included in your scope. Errors caused by Bendpop applying approved information incorrectly do not use up those revisions. Requests for new products, dimensions, uses or design directions may change the scope; their impact is explained in writing first.
